After graduating at the Faculty of Law at Comenius University in Bratislava in 1978 he became an assistant to advocate in Senica nad Myjavou. In 1981 he became an advocate. Since 1990 he has been a member of the Bar Association and re-elected member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Slovak Bar Association in Bratislava.

In 1992 he became a Member of the Federal Assembly of the former Czechoslovak Federal Republic, and worked for the Constitutional Committee. In 1998 he was elected a member of the Slovak National Council (Parliament) where he held the office of Vice-President of the Constitutional Committee and was a member of the mandate and immunity committee of the Slovak National Council.

He has been a member of the Parliamentary committee for reviewing the Constitution preparing the so-called great amendment of the Constitution.

He is the author of the book: Everybody's Guide through the Law, which he published in Hungarian language in 1984.

He was re-appointed a judge of the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic on February 16, 2007.
