On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic, a celebration was held on 22 February 2023 in the Historical Building of the Slovak National Council in Bratislava. The celebration was addressed by the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Eduard Heger, the President of the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic Ivan Fiačan, the President of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic Pavel Rychetský, the Minister of Justice of the Slovak Republic Viliam Karas, the President of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic Ján Šikuta and the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic Pavol Naď. All the speakers highlighted the unquestionable significance and important position of the Constitutional Court in the judicial system and its unique and irreplaceable role in the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms in a state governed by the rule of law.

Also in attendance were current and judges emeritus from the Constitutional Court, representatives of Slovakia in international judicial bodies, senior court officials, members of the legal profession, and other notable figures in the legal field. Following the speeches, a special commemorative publication titled “Constitutional Justice in the Changing Times - Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic (1993 - 2023)” was unveiled. President Ivan Fiačan of the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic and President Pavel Rychetský of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic presided over the unveiling ceremony. The formal proceedings of the ceremony concluded with a performance by the Slovak Chamber Orchestra.

For this occasion, RTVS has produced a documentary about the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic titled “The Most Powerful Institution.”
